Equal Opportunity Cell :

Discrimination against any person on the basis of his/her disability or physical limitations and minority status is a gross violation of universally accepted principles of equality and human rights and constitutional obligations. Their problems are a matter of great concern in the higher education sector which needs immediate attention.

Indian society is divided into different sections of the society. is Within its dimensions reside many groups which are differentiated on the basis of language, caste, caste, caste, religion etc. This requires relief from invalid status, which is possible through equal opportunity measures and status.

EOC works for affirmative action for disadvantaged classes like SC, ST, OBC (non-creamy layer) category persons, persons belonging to religious and linguistic minorities, differently-abled persons and women.

Objectives of the EOC

The objectives of the Cell are :

  • To create an atmosphere of Equal Opportunity through awareness generation programmes.

  • To provide auxiliary support towards skill development and enhancing employability of students.

  • To promote the equality among all and eliminate the discrimination or harassment.

  • To adopt and implement harmonized guidelines and space standards for a barrier free built environment for all.

  • To identify the issues in the campus and to provide an enabling and non-discriminative environment for all.

  • To disseminate the information related to schemes, programs, notifications/memoranda, office orders of the Govt., related to welfare of target groups from time to time.

  • To promote diversity and inclusive practices on campus and provide the underprivileged groups with adequate opportunities.

  • Safeguard the interest of students without any prejudice to their caste, creed, religion, language, ethnicity, gender and disability.

  • To create an atmosphere of equal opportunity through awareness generation programmes.

  • To expedite legal redressal in matters of violation of equal opportunity.
